How London 2012 Scores for Women
How London 2012 Scores for Women:
GOLD: Seeing world-class women being celebrated for their hard work, determination and achievements over their looks for a change.
GOLD: Hearing about world-class women being celebrated for their hard work, determination and achievements over their looks for a change.
GOLD: Talking about world-class women being celebrated for their hard work, determination and achievements over their looks for a change.
Nuff said.

I like this. I’m not sure I agree entirely on the last two though. There have been some nasty jokes about the 350-lb. American Weightlifter, especially on Conan. And only the “pretty” athletes are getting commercial deals.
But at least women’s accomplishments are being discussed and that is a gold medal by any standard. Any progress is still progress.
Ahh, I’m in the UK so don’t see the US coverage, but watching it on the BBC it has been predominantly respectful. The image based comments are certainly in the very minority for a change though
That’s awesome! I’m in Canada, born in the US, I’ve lived in London (2yrs.). I observed some of the worst sexism among the people on the street ever in London, so if the BBC is influencing things the other way, that’s awesome. America is (usually) the opposite. The media is horribly sexist, but most people on the streets are pretty respectful regardless of what genitals you’re working with. Canada is somewhere in the middle. But that’s all just my opinion and observation.
